How Can I Help

You can help build 72010 'Hengist' by gifting the project in many ways.

Items for the Sales Stand

The sales team will always be pleased to accept any donation of model railway equipment, books on any related transport theme, e.g. ships, naval, aircraft, road transport, trams, canals. Items of railway interest, railwayania, e.g. bridge plates, shed, plates, lamps, signal box equipment, etc.

Time and Skills that You Can Spare

A day on the sales stall helping to raise money for the project can be very rewarding, both financially for the project, and for you as a member as you will meet other committed members of the project. Usually at least one member of the Committee of Management attends sales events which gives you the chance to have your say face to face, and get the very latest news on the project first hand. Any skill that you possess, such as welding, painting, engineering, administration, driving for fetch and carry, may come in very useful as the project progresses.

Finance

Always welcome to help speed the project forward. Every penny donated goes towards the purchase of components for the Locomotive.

Spreading the Word

Taking a supply of membership leaflets and placing them in leaflet box at your local library, gym, heritage line (obtain permission from respective management first).

Branded Separates

Buy an item from our branded range of quality embroidered clothing and wear it with pride. This spreads the word about the project to all who see it, and if anyone asks you what the image represents, it's your turn to be the Company's front line publicist, and explain all the project's aims.

Hands on Loco Building

Assist in the assembly of the Locomotive. Willing volunteers will be more than welcome once assembly starts.

Sponsor a Part

From time to time the project asks for sponsors for a specific part or sub assembly which has been successful, e.g. the Reverser. As the project progresses you could 'Put a spoke in our wheel' to help raise the funding to complete a rolling chassis or 'It's a washout' sponsor a boiler washout plug, or fusible plug, etc.

Join the Project

If you feel that the only way that you can assist is by joining the Project, you will be more than welcome to do so. You can join the Project by completing the membership form which gives the following entitlements.

Annual membership of £15 gives two newsletters and a vote at Company Annual General Meeting.

A monthly donation of at least £5 gives the above together with the knowledge that you are helping to finance the construction of the locomotive. Additional benefits will be given to such members in a package which which will be decided by the Council of Management shortly. Benefits will be proportional to the amount of the contribution received.
